4 new members have recently joined
MoMusu was formed in 1997, and until now the group has had 29 members.
On January 2, the four members of the 9th generation were added, and the average age (of the group) is now 17.4.
Their 45th single, “Maji desu ka SKA!” is scheduled to be released on March 23.
This year (as well), Dream Morning Musume has been formed with 10 members from the OG (Original Generation).

I’m happy that I breaked through my 100th radio show episode~!
My radio show, which is my solo work, got its 100th broadcast! The “Tsugunaga constitution” is announced every week, so I’d like a book to come out. I won’t lose to the national constitution, I want to be big! Some day, I want Berryz to decorate the cover of Weekly Playboy. Ah, but I would also be happy if it was just me (lol).

I’d like to have a pie role/use pies in variety shows
I do a radio show with Berryz Koubou’s captain (Shimizu) and Sudou. Though we’re just three, we tell not-well-known stories about the seven of us. I do my best to collect data from everyday. I admire Becky-san. Also, I really like comedy, so I’d like to appear on a variety program. I’d like to have the role of a pie/use pies (lol)!

I was embarrassed about my first protagonist role in a movie
The first movie where I have a protagonist role, “Light Novel no Tanoshii Kakikata” is currently on sale. When I saw my own acting in the preview, I was so embarrassed that I couldn’t sit. Comparing myself to other actors, I’ve still got things to do… I admire the protagonists of shoujo manga, so I’d like to appear in a original manga (as a character). I really do like shoujo manga!

My first solo DVD is different from myself
This year, my first solo DVD “NATURAL & COOL” was released. There were two patterns, a natural image, and a cool one. it was a photoshoot by myself, so I felt uncomfortable, but I think a different me appeared there. I like clothes, so I’d like to to a collaboration with fashion.

I’d like to try the challenge of being a model
Last year, my third photobook “Kuma Spo” was released, and I’d like it if the fourth was released this year. I’d like to try out on more kinds of clothes. I admire pretty girls who, curiously, don’t get decorated/much make-up on, like Nose Karina and Hasegawa Jun, so I’d like to try out being a fashion model. i also aim to become a cool woman (lol)!

Sugaya Risako
As a voice actress (seiyuu), I’m getting to meet lots of people
I’m doing the voice of Ibu Himuro in the anime “mecha mote inchou”. It’s the role of a cool girl, so before performing i put some “coolness”. That type (of girl) is different from my normal self. In the actual place, there are girls of my same age. So I get to meet lots of people (more than before). From now on, I want to show the different sides of Risako.

The chances I’ve got are fastening. This is my aim!! Also, on April 27, the DVD of the movie “Black Angels” will be released. I’m playing the role of the heroine Reira!

I got to do dance covers in YouTube. In two weeks, I achieved 100,000 views, and now I have 1’200,000 views! The easiest encouragement to remember was that i wanted people to watch my videos. I’m not very good at/dislike dancing, so I was worried at first, but I came to like (my?) dancing. From now on, I’d like to try out challenges of doing anything!

Also lately, I’ve begun studying English. I memorize one page of vocabulary per day, and little by little I’m doing my best to be really good at English. Not telling lies!

I do a radio show with Fukuda Kanon-chan. The one in charge is Fukuda, who has lots of personality [literally: character-like, interpretation: a character-like image], but I want to show more of myself. Big announcement in her hometown Nagoya

One of the 9th generation members of idol group Morning Musume (MoMusume), born in Aichi prefecture, Suzuki Kanon (12) attended on the 15th, Hello! Project’s artist live event “Kangei Shisen Matsuri” held in Chukyo University and Cultural Center in Nagoya. She did the big annoucement with a slightly anxious expression: “I’m 12 years old, I’m in 6th grade of primary school. Please treat me well”, she introduced herself, decorating her debut in her home town.

The first one from the Tokai region of Honshu

Suzuki is the first musume who’s born in the Tokai region of Honshu [which includes Aichi, Shizuoka, Mie and southern Gifu prefectures]. She was chosen in the audition that begun on August last year, where there were 9,000 applicants. She was chosen along Fukumura Mizuki (14), Ilkuta Erina (13), Sayashi Riho (12), and they’ll start their activities as musume’s in the concert that begins on March, and Morning Musume will re-start itself.

Suzuki entered the stage with a yellow tank top and pants of colour kaki. Leader Takahashi Ai (24) said “So Aichi is Zukki’s (Suzuki) home town. You must be happy to have a concert on your home town” and Suzuki said “The concert hall is near my house. I’m relieved that I’ll be able to return home soon”. The 1,700 fans gathered there cheered her “do your best!”.

She got appreciation from Tsunku, who said that Suzuki has an energetic smile. She’s part of the soft ball club in her school. In the marathon tournament of grades 3 to 5, she achieved 3rd place, and in the tournament for grade 6, she got 5th place. She is sports-oriented (she has a mind for sports). When she won, she went with her family to eat beef ribs (karubi) and cows’ offal (horumon) in her favourite yakiniku store, which made her full.

At the event, a total of five groups performed, they were MoMusume, Berryz Koubou, C-ute, Mano Erina (19) and S/mileage. Takahashi Ai, who’s graduating on this spring, said “I want to lead the new members into the group”, and then she bowed. The fans were sobbing.

On the same day, a second show was held at night, and a total of 3,400 persons were fascinated [by the concert/H!P/MM]. There’s an event on the 16th as well.

Announcement of a new energetic song: S/mileage

Unit S/mileage, winner of New Artist Prize in the 52th Record Awards last year, will release a new song called “Shortcut” on January 9th. They appear with mini skirts, and sing an energetic song that talks about a maid who has an unrequited love.

To shine, you must do a big effort

Tarento Mano Erina (a spy in reality – in the series), in charge of protecting world’s peace, with a different mission each time… The episodes have a touch of comedy, each one is 5 minutes long, and are broadcasted via internet. The series started in February, and on the 28th episodes 5 to 8 will be broadcasted by BS-TBS.

Her character itself is a bit clumsy, and she commented “It’s a comedy, so, with that in mind, my acting is performed in order to be funny. So, I did some “deformed” (ie. anime-like) facial expressions and had ad lib quarrels. It was a dorama with lots of harvest”.

She’s the first soloist to debut in Hello! Project after seven years, continuing the path of people like Matsuura Aya and Fujimoto Miki. “She’s so cute and looks cool when performing on stage”, says Mano about Matsuura (whom she admires). After passing the audition, she entered the show business, and was bathed in sweat while performing a song like her idol senpais. “One must do a big effort to shine on stage”. Even now, that thought is in her heart.

Proud of her being popular amongst internet doramas, a 15-years old girl from the distant France sent a mail to Mano’s radio show. “She wasn’t that good at hiragana or grammar, but she still did her best, and that touched me…”. Mano thought that about the fan, who lives across the ocean.

We asked 10 questions to Mano.

Q1: If you were to really become a spy, what would you want to investigate?
A1: I’d want to investigate a theme park. I wonder what kind of proof I could find there.

Q2: What would you be doing if you weren’t an idol?
A2: I would want to be a trimmer. A dog trimmer.

Q3: What is good about being in the show business?
A3: Before, I was shy in front of strangers, I didn’t talk much. It made me become more talkative.

Q4: What are you into lately?
A4: Bathing powder. I like relax goods. Eye mask and other things like that heal me. Massage instruments as well.

Q5: Recently, have you made any big mistake?
Q5: About a month ago, I took the wrong subway. Of course, it didn’t arrive to where I wanted… I was in a hurry.

Q6: Who do you respect?
A6: Inou Tadataka, who created maps. I have always loved maps, I too, want to be someone who does different things in this world.

Q7: If all of sudden (it’s decided that) you don’t work tomorrow, what would you do?
A7: Ah~ What could I do. Since my friends are at school, I’d want to go out with my mom. I haven’t been able to do that lately.

Q8: You’re graduating from high school soon. What do you think about what you leave behind.
A8: I wanted to try being in a part-time job. I’ve heard my friends are working in fast food stores as well as super markets, so I wanted to do that too.

Q9: What is the most scariest thing in the world?
A9: I’m afraid of lots of things, but I’m really afraid of places in total darkness. I’m afraid of aquariums too, and the studio at night.

Q10: What’s your favourite season?
Spring. There’s the graduation ceremony, we change classes… We say goodbye too, but it’s also the time of meeting new people. My birthday is on spring as well.

“I’m an idiot too, so I might fit in, I don’t know”

3. Morning Musume:
“Everyone is really cute. They give the feeling that if I join them, I’ll become cute too”

This time, they’re only five girls, but they put on lots of scenes for the play.
They made mistakes while talking and other things like that, but all the members help each other, without anything being destroyed. Moments like those overflow.
I always have admiration for them.
